About this project
A complete point-of-sale system built for restaurants that need speed on the floor and accuracy in the back office. Dine Mate handles order management, payment processing, and real-time inventory tracking in one responsive web application, so front-of-house staff and managers always work from the same live data.
Key features
- Table and order management
- Payment processing flow
- Real-time inventory tracking
- Responsive interface for tablets and terminals
How it was built
01 The problem
[Who needed this and what was going wrong? e.g. orders taken on the floor, kitchen tickets and stock counts living in three different places.]
[What did the restaurant lose because of it — time, money, accuracy, trust?]
02 The constraints
[What shaped the design? e.g. tablets on a noisy floor, staff with varying tech comfort, service-time pressure, offline risk.]
[Limits: delivery window, team size, existing stack, budget.]
03 The architecture
[2–4 sentences on how the system is structured: where the single source of truth lives, how roles see different views, how stock stays in sync with orders.]
04 The engineering decisions
[Decision one — e.g. how staff roles are separated]
- Considered
- [What alternatives were on the table]
- Chosen
- [What was actually built]
- Why
- [Why this won for this context]
[Decision two — e.g. how inventory stays consistent]
- Considered
- [What alternatives were on the table]
- Chosen
- [What was actually built]
- Why
- [Why this won for this context]
05 The challenges
- [What was genuinely hard — and how it was solved. Be specific; this is where credibility lives.]
- [What broke in testing that the design had not predicted?]
06 The outcome
- [What works now — measured if possible: service speed, error rate, hours saved.]
- [What the client or users said / noticed.]
07 The next iteration
- [What would change with more time — and what is still a known limitation?]
